love-of-my-life karen just shared this vintage pic from the stay-at-home dad days… made me laugh…

so to start the evening i had the trepidation… actually… not so much the trepidation but i was all… “uhhhh… whatever”…. because this halloween it was decided that my job was to man the door and hand out the loot…

initially… i was sad… last year i had lotsa fun roaming around with the kiddos getting goodies…

but i, my friends, am a team player… and if the team decided that i was the candy-handing-out mo-fo this year then so be it… i would make the best of it…

and i actually had a fine time… i hung out with our new fishies… i spun pink floyd’s dark side of the moon louder than ususal… my new drinkin’ buddy tapvat / cerveza de barril / le fut pression was there… as were my pals the skulls… you’ll notice the best in-the-dark-shot i could accomplish was a bit on the blurry side… i blame my new drinkin’ buddy tapvat / cerveza de barril / le fut pression…

and i began my campaign to establish our house as the place to go on halloween night… “dig in kiddos”… go on, have another”… “you must be kidding… you call your self a trick-or-treater???”… my goal was to dump all the goodies before the kiddos got home… i came up short but within a half hour or so we were out… hopefully we have thrown down the gauntlet and are in the running for best-place-to-go hono(u)rs…

a couple days ago i posted about an interesting new development in the world of beer delivery systems…

well how cool is this???… when i came home from the work last night i was exceptionally delighted to find that love-of-my-life karen had taken action based on my prior ramblings and procured one of these whiz-bang neato keggies for our very own beer consumption experiments… which i think shall commence this evening…

technology is cool…

take this for instance… how sweet… i like the heineken… i think our fridge needs one of those…

although i’m a bit puzzled by the… uh… slogan???… in the first little video… “doing what you love has never been so rewarding“… what the hell does that mean???…

baths done… kids fed… eating ice cream and watching franklin… and love-of-my-life k has just walked through the door… fun was had in scrapbook land…

and gosh darn it how lovely is this???… my darlin’ has brought home with her some of those delectable sugar free sobe a-rush drinkies (blue can)… which will now enable me to make some of those even more delectable k-pow drinks…

the k-pow… big glass… ice… poopload of absolut mandarin… 1 (one) can of the afforementioned sugar free sobe a-rush (blue can)… simple… lethal… delicious…

heaven in a tumbler… and i’m thinking somewhat deserved at this point…

have had a short bloggin’ break due to a bout of the influenza… i like that better than “flu”… heck… i think from now on i’ll say i’ve had a run in with an orthomyxoviridae family rna virus… that sounds even cooler…

anyone have kids???… sure… err… lots of folks do… for those who don’t - here’s how it works:

child #1 goes to school, the repository of all things illness-based, and gets sick…

child #1 passes said illness on to child #2 (the snot slinga)… child #2, whilst illin’ & clingy, transfers volumes of the ragin’-with-ick muck from his (or her) glazed doughnut-lookin’ visage to your own eyes, nose, mouth and whatever other tiny lil’ mucous membrane-type places exist anywhere on your body… wait two days, and presto!!!… yer ganked!!!…

after about a week of this i’m finally feeling better… this is good… especially since it’s… wait for it… curling night baybee!!!… ooooh yeah… love-of-my-life karen and i missed our supposedly innaugural outing last week as we felt like butt but i think we’re ready to go this eve… and i’m looking forward to it… and to the customary pre- and post- drink(s)…
