Yay!!!… we got a dog… her name’s Koda and she’s pretty darn cool… plus we got her from a Lab Rescue joint so I reckon we’re “saving” her to boot..

I had a dog in high school way back when… for the last twenty-plus years I’ve been fondly remembering those days and wanting to have another but haven’t been able to for a variety of reasons… until now…

One of my co-workers just got back from a weekend trip to Montreal… I overheard her talking about her trip to another resident of my cube farm and she mentioned that she met a dude while she was there that is working on a PhD on… wait for it… CHEESE….

That is one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard…

A Procedure is Imminent

So I turn 40 and right away all sorts of hell starts breaking loose…

We’ll skip the details but I seem to have developed one of these hernias that I’ve heard so much about… luckily(*) we live super close to what I come to find is one of the most rippin’-est (in a “cool” way… not, I’m hoping, in a literal sense) hernia fixin’ joints out there – Shouldice Hospital… where I am officially scheduled for a surgical-type visit in less than a month…

And its kinda freakin’ me out… mainly due to the fact that they only use a local anesthetic… I think I’d prefer to be taking a nice little nap whilst this event goes down… the last time I had a “procedure” done under a local was when I did my part to ensure our family population stays locked at four… and that blew… hopefully this will be significantly lovelier…

Maybe they’ll let me take a few pictures while its all going down…

(*) err… lucky would maybe be not having one in the first place
