snort
have had a short bloggin’ break due to a bout of the influenza… i like that better than “flu”… heck… i think from now on i’ll say i’ve had a run in with an orthomyxoviridae family rna virus… that sounds even cooler…
anyone have kids???… sure… err… lots of folks do… for those who don’t - here’s how it works:
child #1 goes to school, the repository of all things illness-based, and gets sick…
child #1 passes said illness on to child #2 (the snot slinga)… child #2, whilst illin’ & clingy, transfers volumes of the ragin’-with-ick muck from his (or her) glazed doughnut-lookin’ visage to your own eyes, nose, mouth and whatever other tiny lil’ mucous membrane-type places exist anywhere on your body… wait two days, and presto!!!… yer ganked!!!…
after about a week of this i’m finally feeling better… this is good… especially since it’s… wait for it… curling night baybee!!!… ooooh yeah… love-of-my-life karen and i missed our supposedly innaugural outing last week as we felt like butt but i think we’re ready to go this eve… and i’m looking forward to it… and to the customary pre- and post- drink(s)…
right friggin’ cheesed off…
and getting moreso by the minute…
so when we were moving back to canada we found an area we liked and looked a whole pile of houses until we found the one that was right for us… we actually looked at the house next door to us first before we knew 1) our house was for sale and 2) we liked it better… one of the coolest things about the one next door was the awesome back yard… nice landscaping… very nice lawn… the previous owners took very good care of it and you could tell it was a point of pride with them…
well… they left… and our new neighbours moved in about three weeks ago… with their two dogs…
the backyard now looks like a friggin’ pit… there’s a huge trampoline there… the newly constructed “dog run” next to our fence… two yappin’ ass agravating dogs running around all the time… and all the crap that they’ve torn to shreds all over the yard… as of this writing including, but not limited to, an old kitchen chair (they shred nicely)… a few assorted plants (the ones that used to look nice)… a side table for a patio set… a patio chair… what looks to be some sort of serving platter… and the border that used to be around one of the (formerly) nice looking trees…
this is what we see when we look outta our kitchen window… nice huh???…
every other neighbour we’ve met on the block is awesome… very friendly… lotsa kids… just terriffic… but these folks blow…
to review… 1) let yer dogs into the house every now and then… perhaps especially when it’s beltin’ ass down with rain… 2) teach them how to shut up (see 1)… i somehow think they’re related)… and 3) clean up yer friggin’ yard…
ok… rant over… thanks…
we curl now…

so on saturday morn karen and i embarked on a grand adventure… we had our first official curling experience… a clinic at the afforementioned richmond hill curling club for newbies such as ourselves…
it was a hoot… met some nice folks… learned some of the basics… managed not to injure ourselves or look too much like total idiots along the way… hah…
i’m looking forward to our first official night o’ curling in a couple of weeks…
