had an awesome band practice last night… worked primarily on the three newest tunes and i think they’re coming along quite nicely…
i’m constantly amazed at how friggin’ fulfilled i am by the chance to make music for a couple of hours each week… to be able to write songs with me bandmate homeys and get together and hammer out all the details of performing them is a real treat… and to actually share ‘em with folks… eez heaven to me…
to top it off we’ve got tentative dates for our big ol’ cd-ep release party… looks like its gonna be either may 18th or 25th… at the central club in downtown kirkland…
i’ll say more here and we’ll also have updates at the spank website as details are finalized…
speaking of the website… and the lil’ cd… we’ll also soon have mp3′s there for the universe to listen to… and everyone will be able to procure their own copy of this fine lil’ production… i think they’re gonna be around five bucks a shot and we’ll take paypal and all that good stuff to facilitate the ease o’ commerce…
i’m proud of it… it was a blast to make and it’s a great snapshot of where we were as a band when we got the opportunity to go and record… uh… thus the name “snapshot”…

so last night k and i are in bed watching tv and i’m all uncomfortable… stitches from my lil’ procedure were bugging me…
tugboat’s already started teething a bit from what we can tell so we’ve got a big ol’ tube of orajel gum-numbin’ stuff downstairs…
you guessed it… i put orajel on my berries… and ya know what???… worked like a charm… hah…
i only mention this tidbit of best-kept-to-yerself info because my beloved said, whilst laughing, that she was gonna tell all her friends… figured i’d one up her and post it to the world…

holy crap… i cannot believe i haven’t posted to this lil’ feller since the first…
been uber-preoccupied with issues of health (the “boys”) and the brand new gig as a stay-at-home dad (the boy and girl)… ‘s been kinda icky (the former) and a friggin’ hoot (the latter)… and five days have just blown by without a post…
so lessee… a quick update… got fixed… kinda sucked but i’m much better now… glad i only have to do that once…
and with my neutering and an extra break week the week before its been two weeks without a band practice… way too long i reckon… we’re playing tonight and i’m looking forward to it lots… although i think i’ll perhaps jump around a bit less than normal this eve… christ… that hurts just thinkin’ about it… hah…
we’re on day three of the grand stay-at-home dad adventure and its sure a blast so far… gone for walks… gone to playgrounds and hung out with other parents… very cool stuff… i’m a lucky feller to have the opportunity to do this… and i’m amazingly fortunate to have the lovely karen as my partner in this whole deal… she’s an amazingly supportive lady and i’m sure glad she picked me to get married to…
so i’ve started an alternate blog-stream… homedad… my intent is to post there with observations about the joys, challenges, tribulations, adventures and whatnot dealing with the full time parenting gig… i’m sure lotsa dad- and kid-stuff will be here too but i’m going to try and spend most of my time there talking about these things as sort of a stay-at-home dad diary/journal… plus i think it’ll be cool to look back at stuff there w/ the chilluns as they get a bit older…
there’s not much there just yet… i think i’ll embark on the bloggin’ there later this eve and recap the first week so far… post band practice… with a couple of libations in me… hah… maybe tomorrow…

well that blew…
but its over now… i’m officially on the mend… and a permanent birth control solution has been attained… pending review of a couple of “samples” by my pals at the mens-business shop within the next 6-10 weeks…
gracias to my pals that called to see how i was doing over the last couple of days…
and a super huge thanks to love-of-my-life karen… who rocks like no one else and was awesome in helping me get through the ordeal…
so onward and upward… today is my official first day of full-time dad-dom… k’s made a partial return to her office for a meeting or two… let the games begin…
